About Us
Community Resilience for the Waterbury Area (CReW) is a long-term recovery group (LTRG) serving flood-impacted residents in Bolton, Duxbury, Middlesex, Moretown and Waterbury. As a flood recovery and community resilience group, we focus on both helping our neighbors recover from flooding and supporting individual and community-wide flood mitigation efforts.
Our Story
In July of 2023, a number of Vermont towns suffered from devastating flooding. The town of Waterbury rallied quickly to help impacted neighbors with mucking out basements, applying to FEMA, and much more. To lead long-term recovery, Community Resilience for the Waterbury Area (CReW) was formed in August of 2023 to help residents in Waterbury, Duxbury, Bolton, Moretown, and Middlesex recover and build future flood resilience. Revitalizing Waterbury became the fiscal sponsor of CReW in 2023.
Then, in December of 2023 and July of 2024, recovery needs grew as Vermont was hit with more destructive floods. As a long-term recovery group (LTRG), we are here to help our fellow flood-impacted neighbors with 1:1 support, technical assistance, financial resources, and construction assistance.
If you live in Waterbury, Duxbury, Bolton, Moretown, or Middlesex, we’re here to help!
